About Adipotide

Adipotide is among the compounds studied in metabolic and weight-regulation research. Binds prohibitin on the vasculature supplying white adipose tissue and triggers targeted apoptosis of those blood vessels, cutting off the blood supply to fat depots.

Research Application

In preclinical models, adipotide produced marked fat-mass reduction (including roughly 11% body-weight reduction in obese rhesus monkeys after 28 days). Because of renal toxicity observed in humans, it is now regarded strictly as a research tool with no clinical pathway forward.

Claims circulating online are often not backed by valid clinical data. Treat all information as a starting point for your own scientific research, not as usage guidance.

Chimeric peptidomimetic (also called FTPP), consisting of a vascular homing domain (CKGGRAKDC) fused to the proapoptotic sequence D(KLAKLAK)2.
No approved or actively advancing drug program. Developed at MD Anderson Cancer Center; a Phase 1 human trial was terminated in 2019 due to dose-limiting nephrotoxicity, with no published efficacy results. Clinical development is considered discontinued.
