About Triptorelin

Triptorelin is among the peptides researched in the context of the growth hormone (GH) axis. Continuous receptor occupancy initially causes a transient surge in LH/FSH/testosterone, followed by downregulation and desensitization of pituitary GnRH receptors, producing sustained gonadotropin suppression.

Research Application

Used to study continuous versus pulsatile GnRH-receptor signaling and receptor downregulation kinetics, and as the reference long-acting GnRH agonist.

Sequence / Structure Synthetic GnRH agonist decapeptide: differs from native GnRH/gonadorelin by a single D-Trp substitution at position 6, which confers enzymatic resistance and higher receptor affinity.
