About Thymalin

Thymalin is studied in tissue regeneration and repair research, including cell and animal models. Contains regulatory short peptides proposed to bind DNA/histone proteins and modulate gene expression; promotes T-lymphocyte differentiation and normalization of cytokine balance.

Research Application

Used and studied clinically for immune restoration following infections, surgery, and radiation exposure, and in age-related immune decline; a 2021 Russian study also examined it as adjunct therapy in elderly patients with severe COVID-19.

Important to know

Claims circulating online are often not backed by valid clinical data. Treat all information as a starting point for your own scientific research, not as usage guidance.

Low-molecular-weight polypeptide complex (a mixture of roughly 10–40 short peptides) extracted from calf thymus, not a single defined peptide.
Approved as a pharmaceutical in Russia since 1982; developed by Vladimir Khavinson and Vyacheslav Morozov. Part of the family of Khavinson bioregulator peptides (including Epitalon, Vilon). Not approved by the FDA or EMA; clinical use is largely confined to Russia/CIS countries.

Sequence and regulatory status data are based on publicly available sources and refer to the compound in general, not to a specific product.

Research Overview

Studies on regenerative peptides are mostly derived from cell culture and animal models; comprehensive clinical data is typically still limited.
