About PE-22-28

PE-22-28 is studied in tissue regeneration and repair research, including cell and animal models. Selectively and more potently than parent spadin blocks the TREK-1 potassium channel (a target implicated in depression), showing improved in vivo stability and antidepressant-like activity in rodent models.

Research Application

Studied preclinically for rapid-onset antidepressant-like effects and promotion of hippocampal neurogenesis and synaptogenesis; animal-model data only, no published human efficacy trials.

Important to know

Claims circulating online are often not backed by valid clinical data. Treat all information as a starting point for your own scientific research, not as usage guidance.

Synthetic 7-amino-acid peptide fragment (residues 22–28) derived from spadin, a peptide cleaved from the propeptide of the sortilin receptor (proSORT1).
Purely a preclinical research tool; developed by a French research group (Mazella/Devader, CNRS/Université Côte d'Azur, Nice). No known human clinical trials, no regulatory approval.

Sequence and regulatory status data are based on publicly available sources and refer to the compound in general, not to a specific product.

Research Overview

Studies on regenerative peptides are mostly derived from cell culture and animal models; comprehensive clinical data is typically still limited.
