About Liraglutide

Liraglutide is among the compounds studied in metabolic and weight-regulation research. GLP-1 receptor agonist: enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppresses glucagon, delays gastric emptying, and reduces appetite centrally via hypothalamic and reward-related circuits.

Research Application

Approved for glycemic control in type 2 diabetes (Victoza) and for chronic weight management in obesity (Saxenda). The pivotal SCALE trial demonstrated significant weight loss with 3.0 mg/day versus placebo in 3,731 participants over 56 weeks.
