About GHRP-6
GHRP-6 is among the peptides researched in the context of the growth hormone (GH) axis. GHRP-6 activates the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) in the pituitary and hypothalamus, and is additionally associated with binding to CD36 in cardiac tissue — a pathway independent of the GH axis.
Research Application
As the first synthetic growth-hormone-releasing peptide, GHRP-6 is studied in GH-axis research. The additionally described CD36 binding mechanism in cardiac tissue is discussed independently of the growth hormone effect.
