Two Different Mechanisms of Action

BPC-157 is a 15-amino-acid fragment of a gastroprotective protein found in gastric mucosa. Preclinical models describe upregulation of the VEGFR2 receptor, proposed to amplify the body's own angiogenesis.

TB-500, a synthetic analog of the body's own thymosin beta-4, works via a different route: it regulates actin monomers, creating a mobilizable reserve for cell migration – a systemic rather than locally confined mechanism.

Why the Combination Is Popular

The idea behind the combination – known in community jargon as the “Wolverine Stack” – is to address local (BPC-157) and systemic (TB-500) regenerative processes at the same time.

Regulatory Status

Both substances were classified by the FDA as Category 2 bulk substances in 2023, meaning compounding pharmacies may no longer use them in drug preparations. Both are also listed on the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) Prohibited List.

The Combination Itself Is Unstudied

No published studies exist examining BPC-157 and TB-500 together. The available evidence relates exclusively to the two individual compounds.
